If you are tired of the traffic in taipei, you must be ecited that the mass rapid transit is almost finished. It shows the train, in another form, has come back to us and may play an important part of everyday life again.

For a long time, trains were the fastest and easiest way to move people may still remember how hard they tried to get on a train with lots of other people to go to school or to work. later on,cars became more popular because it was easier and more convenient to go from place to place by car.

Many people, however, have returned to the railway in the past few years. there are several reasons for this.First,it is more comfortable to travel by car.Second, railroads are safer than highways.Third, trains are faster than cars because highways often have heavy traffic.

One afternoon,a close friend of mine came up to me excitedly:

“Julia, don’t you know that there’s a cherry tree in our school?”

  “A cherry tree?Really?Where?”

Cherry trees were so scarce that I had only seen them in the film “Romantic Cherry”.

“In Xi Garden.Hurry!Let’s go and see it!”

I dropped my book and followed my friend out of the class

As soon as I stepped into Xi Garden,I began seeking the precious “pink”eagerly. And ho,there it was!In the distance, several pink “clouds”were floating above a small pavilion. That was it!My cherry tree!

We quickened our steps.Little by little, the gossamer like pink “clouds”grew bigger and bigger and at last seemed to occupy the blue sky when we were just standing under the cherry,on a small slope.Beneath my feet, the soil was covered by fallen petals. What a wonderful experience!Stretching my arms widely,I felt as if flying in the air weightlessly in the world of pink.

When a gentle breeze passed by,hundreds of petals parachuted down. They danced and whirled beautifully in the air and blurred my vision.

The petals were so light that it took them some time to fall down onto the ground or into the pool.

The petals lying on the ground joined their brothers and sisters to extend a pink carpet while those floating on the water were setting out on a mysterious journey.

“I surely will be sorry when all of the petals have fallen down.”My friend said woefully.

“No.Although they have left their home and have been separated from each other, they are still happy and composed and try to do their best where God place them.”I said to myself, firmly and hopefully.

Having stayed on campus for so many yearsm some students become bored and can't wait to pick up a job. They are eager to lead a life that is less stressful intellectually and less pressing economically. In their eyes jobs can provide them with constant opportunities for solving problemsmwhich demands a combination of schoolbook knowledge and practical abilitieB

However, some students plan to continue their education in pursuing a master's degree. In terms of career academic preparation, knowledge and skills acquired at undergraduate level are far from adequate. A sound fact is that an increasing number of graduates are returning, motivated by the need to their knowledge and enhance (提高) their skills. The news that graduates with higher degrees are better off spreads from shrinking (萎縮的) job market.

All this indicates that a bachelor's degree (學(xué)士學(xué)位) can hardly qualify students for a competitive position. If I am faced with the choice, I prefer to stay and pursue a M. A. degree. I know my choice will mean a commitment of time and money. But opportunities always take the form of hardships and risks. The days might be rigorous and painstaking, but they would certainly be fulfilling and rewarding, and would surely lead to a prosperous future.

As we know, when senior students graduate from school, most of their textbooks, which are still in good condition are thrown away。 What a great waste it is! Thus, here comes a heated debate on whether we should recycle textbooks。

Some people are the opponents because they think there is a danger for students when using the recycling textbooks with many bacteria on them, which are bad for children’s health。 Furthermore, notes on the pages made by the students may disturb the next users。 As for Printing Industry, Publishing Industry and other related ones, it is a big loss in XXX profits。

On the other hand, however, many more people think recycling textbooks is a good suggestion, which I quite agree to。 For one thing, recycling textbooks can save a lot of natural resources and reduce waste。 Besides, a cut in the expenses means less stress for the parents, especially for those relatively less rich ones。 And for students, it is also a useful way to develop a good habit of reading and taking care of books, to cultivate the sense of social responsibility of valuing common property and promote the awareness of treasuring natural resources。 As a matter of fact, recycling textbooks is very popular with some foreign countries such as Australia, which has set a good example to us。

Therefore, recycling textbooks is not only necessary but also helpful。
