倡導(dǎo)節(jié)約的英語作文 篇1
As is known to all, waste has become a more and more serious problem. We can easily see many persons dump a lot of food in the garbage can. Some persons spend thousands of yuan buying fashionable clothes and so on.
The negative effects of waste can be shown in the following aspects. In the first place, it makes some students dependent on their parents for money, which is harmful to their development. If they don’t learn to support themselves, they will be “useless people” when they graduate. In the second place, it is not easy for our parents to arrange for our schooling. Last but not the least important, there is no denying the fact that our country is still poor. There are many people who cannot go to university and many poor people still need our help.
As far as I am concerned, I should set a good example to reduce waste on social. First of all, I will refrain from wasting anything, from food to stationery. What’s more, I’m determined to call on more schoolmates to fight against waste. Only through these measures can we hope to reduce waste.
倡導(dǎo)節(jié)約的英語作文 篇2
With large amounts of food thrown away each year, the problem of food waste is widespread in China. Last Spring Festival, my father invited several friends to dinner in a restaurant. My father ordered a lot to show respect and display generosity.
What surprised me was he ordered an extra dish before we could finish all! When we stood up to leave, there were many dishes unfinished. Out of embarrassment, my father was reluctant to take the leftovers home. Later, we all shared the opinion that it was a great waste.
Recently, the Clear Your Plate Campaign started nationwide. I firmly believe that if everyone does his bit, the food waste will be significantly reduced.

What is vividly revealed in the picture is that water is being reused in daily life at home. After washing rice, the water can be used to wash vegetables and then clean the mop and the toilet. What a harmonious scene it is!
It is not difficult to find that what the picture intends to express is the importance of saving and protecting resources. On the one hand, as we all know, water resource is limited and water shortage is still a serious problem threatening the existence and survival of the whole human being. On the other hand, the phenomenon of wasting water can still be easily found anywhere in our daily life. For example, water taps are frequently left on by careless users. Someone even assumes that they have the right to waste water because they pay for it o that it has nothing to do with others. In fact, so precious water is that we cannot afford to waste it. Water resource is not only indispensable in our daily life but also in the industry and agriculture. It is hard to imagine what the world would be like when there I is no more water.
It is fortunate that now the public is starting to pay attention. But, this is not adequate. As is shown in the above picture, what we need is more actions to save and protect resources! First of all, social environment is shaped by the general public, and the cultivation of conservation-minded society depends on the active involvement of every member of our society, be he old or young. Accordingly, an education campaign should be launched to call on people from all walks of life to save and protect resources. In addition, saving and protecting resources is bound up with our daily life. We, college students, should spare no efforts to save valuable energy and natural resources such as power, water, coal, gas and so on. Only by the joint efforts of the whole society can we create a real conservation-minded society.

he earth is suffering, and we, the human beings, are suffering with it,too. The rivers on the earth are drying, then we have to turn to the Mars to search for water;trees on the earth are reducing, then we have to use plastics;the oil, coal and gas is getting less an less, then we have to be ready to go backward to the darkness.Everybody hates the pollutions but everybody is making pollutions. If you are responsible person for the world, for the next generation and for yourself, then stop making such mistakes.Let's all together save the environment, save the resources ,save the nature and save the earth as well.Only because that is to save ourselves!Come on,do something with the preservation of the human existence.
Everybody knows that we have only one earth on which we share with different kinds of animals and plants. With the development of the industry,we, the human beings, have produced more and more pollutions whci are harmful to the animals, plants and ourselves as well. The most serious problem that we have to face is that the earth is being destroyed by our so-called civilizations.Sometimes, you may find we are having more and more natural disasters on the earth. That is why some countries, like America, has begun to explore the Mars and the other planets.Remember,to save the earth is to save ourselves.

Energy shortage is a huge problem for morden society, and it has a negtive impact on people's daily life and economic development.
Many elements accounts for energy shortage. Firstly, rapid economic development prompts an increase of energy consumptions in different industries. Secondly, population growth creates greater demands for household energy usage. Thirdly, people have yet to develop the sense of energy conservation.
Actually we can do a lot to save energy in daily life.Turn off lights and fans when nobody is in the room;design buildings with the concept of energy saving;use public transit instead of private cars in rush hours...It is very easy for us to do these things as long as we have the sense of energy conservation, and we should do it right now.

Mayor Bloomberg has been the mayor of New York City for nearly nine years, but for ten years he has been wearing the same shoes. This is really rare to be seen on a billionaire.
“The mayor owns two pairs of work shoes,” said the spokesman. “One day he’ll wear one, the next the other. When they got worn down, he has them repaired. He could buy any shoes he wanted, but he says since they are comfortable, and they work, there’s no need for a new pair.” According to the spokesman, the mayor saves in his footwear and he also keeps it up in his personal as well as governmental finance. “When he buys a cup of coffee, he chooses the smallest size. He buys only what he needs.”
Such is the mayor of New York City, who cares little about his shoes, avoids wasting money and focuses his attention on his work and his people in the city.
But what about our fellow students nowadays? Some wear super expensive clothes and shoes; besides, they buy as many as possible, far more than two pairs. They always want the latest, the newest and throw the old ones away though they haven’t worn them for many times.

The author introduces to us the mayor of New York City, a man who is rich but provident. The author also points out nowadays some students have the habit of wasting things.
When reading the passage, I am deeply moved by the mayor. Rich as he is, he has the virtue of saving. He spends money only on what he needs and never wastes money on what is of no use. I think this is really admirable.
The mayor reminds me of the great political leader of China, Chairman Mao. As the chairman of China, Mao led a very thrifty life. He used to wear old clothes at home. When his clothes were worn out, he would have them repaired and continued to wear them. He always told others that saving was a good virtue of Chinese people.
Thinking about the two great leaders, I feel deeply ashamed. As a young student who still has to depend on my parents, I have been leading too comfortable a life. I buy whatever I like though I don’t really need them. Besides, I like new things; when things get “old”, I tend to begin to dislike them and stop using them. Now that I realize that this is wrong, I’m determined that I shall follow the examples of the two great leaders and start to get rid of the bad habits.

倡導(dǎo)節(jié)約的英語作文 篇9
How many times I have seen a company or organisation habitually waste good food?! Too many times! They are well-meaning people, and they'd like to give away the food instead of wasting it by putting it in the dustbin. They'd maybe like to give the food to the needy or the poor, and there's probably a few beggars just along the road if anyone was kind enough to go along and see if they are hungry. So why don't they do it? Reason: Too many stupid rules!
Just as surely as there's no pig bin anymore for food to be recycled as pork (because of various illconceived ideas about the health of pigs if they eat other people's sunday lunches and leftovers), there's no "well let's give it to the beggars!".Apparently, beggars can in theory take the company to court if they are made ill by the food. Not that they are seriously going to be made ill by perfectly good food, and not that most beggars have the money to start a legal case.

Many people believe that the world’s supply of fresh water will never be used up. They think that fresh water comes from such a variety of sources that it is always sufficient for use. Such an opinion leads to a shocking waste of water.
As a matter of fact, the earth is short of fresh water. Furthermore, with the rapid growth of the world population, the rising demand for water by industry, and the serious pollution of our surroundings, the world is facing the ganger of running out of fresh water. Actually, in some big cities, fresh water can not meet the daily needs.
Therefore, to find new ways to save water is an urgent task. First, we should pass strict laws to control any waste of water. Second, scientists must work even harder to purify sea water, and try to find substitute to reduce the use of fresh water.

Write an essay of 160-200 words based on the following drawing. In your essay, you should first desCRIbe the drawing, then interpret its meaning, and give your comment on it.
You should write neatly on ANSWER SHEET 2. (20 points)
As is vividly revealed in the drawing above, water is being wisely utilized in the daily life of a family. The good conduct is indeed praiseworthy and should be popularized in our society.
The implied meaning of the drawing can be stated as follows. To begin with, to practise economy is closely related to our daily life. In terms of our clothing, food, sheltering, and transport, much work can be done to save valuable energy and natural resources such as power, water, coal, gas and so on. We, as university students, should take the wise use of paper and second-hand textbooks into consideration. What’s more, the public participation is the foundation of a society in which to practise economy is advocated and treasured. Since social environment is shaped by the general public, the cultivation of economy-practising society depends on the active involvement of every member of our society, be he old or young. In sum, our daily life should be permeated with the sense of practising economy and public participation should be encouraged.
In my view, necessary measures should be taken so as to practise economy. On the one hand, we should launch a public campaign to help people build up the sense of practicing economy in our routine life. On the other hand, education on how to practise economy must be promoted by relevant government departments and professionals at different levels. Only in this way can we create a real economy-practising society.

The world is not only hungry, but also thirsty for water. This may seem strange to you, since nearly 75 % of the earth's surface is covered with water. But about 97% of this huge amount is sea water, or salt water. Man can only drink and use the other 3% -- the fresh water that comes from rivers, lakes, underground , and other sources. And we cannot
even use all of that, because some of it is in the form of icebergs and glaciers. Even worse, some of it has been polluted.
However, as things stand today, this small amount of fresh water, which is constantly being replaced by rainfall, is still enough for us. But our need for water is increasing rapidly-- almost day by day. Only if we take steps to deal with this problem now can we avoid a severe worldwide water shortage later on. A limited water supply would have a bad effect on agriculture and industry. Let me give you just one small exampie of how necessary water is to industry. Did you know that to produce a single ton of steel, it takes about 91, 000 liters of water?
We all have to learn how to stop wasting our precious water. One of the first steps we should take is to develop ways of reusing it. Experiments have already been done in this field, but only on a small scale. For us, the systems are as important as the spacecraft.

From learning to life, we can not do without paper, and paper-making raw materials are mainly bark and other plant fibers, but because people blindly cutting. Now less and less trees, so we have to save paper, everybody, from little things around us. "Saving paper" concept for us, than to save water and electricity to seem a little distant. Few people know to save paper and protect the ecological environment is directly related. Each of us every day in the paper, with a variety of different types of paper. You counted it? How much paper you use every day? How much paper you one week? How much a month to a year to use your paper? The result is amazing. A piece of paper come from? Paper is from a tree "change" to the. A tree often takes decades to be a long human use. Human beings are relentless, the sound of saws, into dozens of older trees crashing to the ground. Those timber and transported to paper mills, into a piece of paper. Paper to bring the convenience of mankind, but to the forest caused great impact.
