　　營養(yǎng)上的不足削弱了她肌肉的生長和發(fā)育。除此之外，在那個時代，對于任何一個男芭蕾舞演員來講，她都長得太高了。

　　Hepburn’s Dream

　　My mother’s dream was always to be a prima ballerina.

　　No matter how hard she had trained her most important and formative years had passed and could not be recaptured. The war had been tough on her, and poor nutrition had impaired some of her muscular growth and development. Besides, she was too tall for any male dancer of the era. My mother simply couldn’t compete with the other dancers who had received proper training as well as proper sustenance during the war years. The war had stolen her dream. She remembered going back to her room that day and “just wanting to die.” The dream that had kept her hope alive all those years had just vanished.

　　赫本的夢想

　　我母親的夢想一直是成為首席芭蕾舞女演員。

　　但不管她訓(xùn)練多么刻苦，最關(guān)鍵的塑型時期還是過去了，而且無法重來。戰(zhàn)爭讓她受盡苦頭。營養(yǎng)上的不足削弱了她肌肉的生長和發(fā)育。除此之外，在那個時代，對于任何一個男芭蕾舞演員來講，她都長得太高了。而且，母親完全無法與其他那些接受過正規(guī)訓(xùn)練并在戰(zhàn)爭年代能得到足夠糧食補(bǔ)給的舞者競爭。戰(zhàn)爭粉碎了她的夢想。她記得那天回到房里時，她覺得自己“只想死”。那個多年來為她點(diǎn)燃希望之火的夢想破滅了。

　　Have you ever had a dream about your splendid future or imagined something unreal but interesting or meaningful? Tell your closet friend about it now. My Dream I have a dream that I am always young. Then I will have enough energy to do everything whenever I want. Moreover, I don't have to worry about the old age during which I even can't take care of myself. I know that my dream will not come true. However, I think it is lucky that I am young now.
