Air is all around us. Its around us as we walk and play. From the time we were born, air was around us on every side. When we sit down, it is around us. We live in air.
All living things need air. Living things cant live without air. We can go without food or water for a few days but we cant live for more than a few minutes without air. We take in air. When we are working or running, we need more air. When we are asleep, we need less air.
We live in air, but we can not see it.
We can only feel it. We can feel it when it is moving. Moving air is called wind. How can you make air move? Here is one way. Hold an open book in your hands in front of you. Close it quickly. What can you feel? What you feel is the air.

Knowledge is Power 知識(shí)就是力量
Recently there has been a discussion regarding the issue of knowl-edge in the newspaper. As can be seen from the picture, knowledge is symbolized by a clenched fist as power. The fist sends out message for "obedience", threatening to crack with power any hard nut.
The more demanding and challenging a task is, the more powerful the fist seems to grow. Similarly, knowledge, the strongest power for humanbeings, feeds up the field of science and technology. The more ad-vanced and developed a field is, the more profound knowledge seems to become.
A specific example is the dunaping of Mir, Russias space station. As is the case of the Russian space program, the country could no longer afford to keep Mir aloft in orbit because of lack Of financialsupport. Therefore, Russia decided to dump the space station. Progress in science and the improvement of living conditions have led to the rapid growth of the world population. Modern medicine, for example, has made it possible for babies to grow up healthily and for people to live longer. With improved living conditions, particularly in the countryside, people tend to have larger families. As a result, the world population has increased so rapidly that it has now exceeded 6 billion.
But the overgrowth of population presents a threat to the existence of human society. A large population demands a GREat deal of food supply and shelter space. However, limited productivity and scarce world resources can hardly meet the needs of the ever-increasing population. Thus, in the long run, the overgrowth of the world population will only harm mankind.
To guarantee the steady development of human society, mankind must realize the consequences resulting from fast population growth and carry out a family planning programme. Only by adopting effective measures, can human society develop steadily and have a bright future.

For a long time it seemed to me that life was about to begin , real life. But, there was always some obsacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinnished business, time still to be served or a debt to be paid. Then life would begin.

They often refuse to have a try, and therefore have no opportunity to overcome difficulties in order to get themselves improved.Apparently, this shows their lack of self-confidence.
