例句難點解析

1.What do you think they should do to solve their problems?

   此句為雙重疑問句,由一般疑問句和特殊疑問句混合而成。 

掌握該句型需要注意以下幾點:①一般疑問句(如本句的do you think)用疑問語序;②特殊疑問句應注意形式或語序的變化,即特殊疑問詞提到句首(如本句的what),并用陳述語序;③可用于此句型的動詞除think之外,還有say, believe, guess, suggest, imagine, suppose等。如:

   Where do you guess we can see him?

   句子中has always been thinking about himself是現(xiàn)在完成進行時態(tài),說明某動作或狀態(tài)從過去某時刻開始一直延續(xù)到現(xiàn)在,有可能繼續(xù)進行下去,也有可能剛剛結束,其中副詞always用來加強語氣。如:

   Mr Jones has been picking the apples at his farm with his children.

   瓊斯先生一直在他的農(nóng)場和他的孩子們一起摘蘋果。

   Where have you been? We have been looking for you.

   你去哪里了?我們一直在找你。

4.The lesson we can learn from Chuck and all the others who have unusual friends is that friends are teachers.

   該句的主句為The lesson...is that...。 

其中we can learn...unusual friends為定語從句,修飾先行詞the lesson; who have unusual friends為另一定語從句,修飾先行詞the others;that引導的從句為名詞性從句,在句中作表語。

   名詞lesson在這里表示“體會,教訓”,常構成詞組learn a lesson from...表示“從……得到教訓”,teach sb. a lesson 表示“給某人一個教訓”,而give sb. a lesson除表示“給某人一個教訓”之外,還可表示“給某人上課”。如:
