The most significant art I saw in this movie is how the Vogels live with each other, lean on each other and do all these things together. If there is no Herb or Dorothy, there will be no this movie. It could only be done by them together, support each other, share the same value and pursue the same dream and live with this dream together for more than 45 years.
I noticed that they merely said any bad words in the whole movie. They try to find every beautiful thing in their sight. They live for the beauty, but nothing bad and ugly.
Everyone could approach art through this way, but no one did it before. And no one will do it after.
They collect art and grow with the artists; their collection must record many artists' steps and also inspire the artists. We could say the Vogels collect the artworks that they created with the artists together.
If On Kawara's life data record behavior is art, then the Vogels made even better real art than On Kawara did (Personally, I didn't enjoy the recent show of On Kawara in Guggenheim).
