The majority of marketing managers are employed by individual companies and earned around $126,220. However, those working in the marketing of computer systems made $137,040, and the mean salary for managers in the film and video industry was $152,700.

Specific duties differ based on the size of the firm; advertising managers in larger firms may have more specialized roles, such as media director or design manager, while those in smaller firms may take on a variety of responsibilities.
Salary Information
The annual median salary for advertising managers in 2008, as reported by the BLS, was $97,670 (www.bls.gov). Those working in advertising agencies earned $124,490, while newspaper and book publishers paid their managers $92,640. Advertising managers employed by television and radio broadcasting companies made $91,930.
