Since World WarII, science and technology have developed a great deal. In the next century, this trend will undoubtedly cONtinue. All kinds of technology are to be improved at a terrible rate. This development will bring great benefits both to our everyday life and recur work. At the same time, it will also improve industrial and agricultural produc tion.
On the other hand, this development is sure to bring about some new probems we have never met before or, at least, to make some present problems even worse. If some new species of animals were really turned out by the gene engineering one day, what would our world be like then? And once the artificial intelligent robots were put into use, what would these clever "people" do to their producers?
In spite of all these problems we will not go back to lead the life our forefather led. The only way is to improve science and technology and to find out all ways to solve those problems. That is difficult. But we, the constructors of the new century, will surely turn them into reality.
展望21世紀(jì)
自從第二次世界大戰(zhàn)以來，科學(xué)技術(shù)已經(jīng)迅猛發(fā)展。在下一世紀(jì)，這種傾向無疑將會(huì)繼續(xù)。各種技術(shù)將會(huì)以驚人的速度進(jìn)步。這一發(fā)展對(duì)我們的日常生活和工作都將帶來巨大的利益。同時(shí)，也將改善工農(nóng)業(yè)生產(chǎn)。
另一方面，這一發(fā)展也一定會(huì)帶來一些我們過去未曾遇到過的新問題，甚至使目前的一些問題變得更嚴(yán)重。如果有一天某些動(dòng)物的新物種用基因工程產(chǎn)生出來，那么我們的世界將會(huì)是什么樣子?一旦聰明的人造機(jī)器人付諸使用，這些機(jī)器人將對(duì)其制造者們?nèi)绾文?
盡管有這些問題，我們也決不會(huì)再去過我們的祖先所過的生活。惟一的方法就是改進(jìn)科學(xué)技術(shù)，找到解決這些問題的方法。這當(dāng)然是困難的。但是，我們——新世紀(jì)的建設(shè)者們，一定會(huì)把它們變成現(xiàn)實(shí)。
