近日，美國聯(lián)邦調(diào)查局（FBI）已對美國陸軍工程兵部隊首席合同官邦納蒂尼·格林豪斯進(jìn)行了詳細(xì)面訊，深入調(diào)查哈利伯頓公司違規(guī)獲得數(shù)十億美元的`伊拉克重建合同一案。
早在10月份，格林豪斯已向美國國防部內(nèi)部監(jiān)察機構(gòu)投訴，指控她所在的部門在未經(jīng)投標(biāo)的情況下，就將為駐巴爾干半島美軍部隊提供補給以及伊拉克石油設(shè)施重建合同交給了哈利伯頓子公司KBR，并拿出五角大樓2003年的一封內(nèi)部電子郵件作為證據(jù)，其中稱“伊拉克合同已經(jīng)與切尼辦公室進(jìn)行了協(xié)商”。外電報道如下：FBI agents recently spent a day interviewing the Army contracting officer who raised concerns that the Pentagon improperly awarded contracts without competition to Halliburton Co., Vice President Dick Cheney's former company.
The Army Corps of Engineers contract officer, Bunnatine Greenhouse, was interviewed last week and now is gathering documents requested by the FBI and Army criminal investigators, her lawyer said Wednesday.
"They questioned her about all of her concerns, and they asked questions regarding potential involvement of people at higher-level positions," attorney Michael Kohn said in an interview.
The Associated Press reported last month that the FBI had expanded a criminal probe into allegations Halliburton overcharged the government for fuel, adding questions about whether the Bush administration had improperly awarded business without bidding to Halliburton in Iraq and the Balkans.
Criminal probe表示“刑事調(diào)查”，因為probe除了“探針，外太空探測器”等含義，還表示“調(diào)查，探求，刺探”，例如：：a congressional probe into price fixing（議會對價格穩(wěn)定的調(diào)查）；to probe rumors to the bottom（徹底查明謠言來源）。
據(jù)悉，美國副總統(tǒng)切尼曾經(jīng)是得克薩斯哈利伯頓公司的高層領(lǐng)導(dǎo)，在他擔(dān)任副總統(tǒng)后，這家公司從美國國防部獲得了巨額承包合同。因此有關(guān)哈利伯頓利用切尼的關(guān)系不正當(dāng)獲得巨額合同的指責(zé)從未止歇。
