Usually I would do some exercises on the weekend，because I thought keeping in a good health can help me study well. Last weekend, It was rainning outside so I decided to do some exercises in the gym. When I went into the gym, some people were doing exercises there. A man was doing weight training and trying his best to upraise heavier weight. There were two girls running on the treadmill（跑步機(jī)），neither too fast nor too slow. In the next room there was a fitness instructor(健身教練) was teaching some young people doing yoga（瑜珈）, which made they do some strange actions.
After some minutes' warm up (熱身)，I started to run on the treadmill and ride on the exercise bike（健身腳踏車）. Both of them were easy and good for most of people. Besides，I did some dumbbell （啞鈴）exercises ,seating type chest pushing, high pulling force back muscle training, butterfly clamp chest muscle training, thigh stretching, leg treading, abdomen muscle training, vertical pulling force training. For one thing, many students spend most of their time preparing for the test, therefore their focus is not on learning English better but on getting a high mark. For another, many teachers don’t concentrate on how to improve the students’ abilities. They only care how many of their students can pass the test.
However, there are many people who believe the test should stay. To begin with, the test is the most effective way to measure how well the students have learned English. What’s more, we can come up with some ways to lessen the negative effect.
As far as I am concerned, each side is right in a certain way. We have to keep the test so students will have better motivation to learn English. However, we can’t attach too much importance to the scores of the test. After all, it is just a test, isn’t it? (212 words)

on one hand, welfare lottery encourages people to do small kindness for the welfare of others as well as for the profit of oneself. when we read the daily newspapers, we are frequently appraised of the "big kindness" performed by well-to-do philanthropists who donate large sums of money for the establishment of schools, libraries, free hospitals for the poor, orphanages,and the like. these, of course, are laudable acts of charity that deserve wide public acclaim. but in my estimation, not all the people have the financial ability to support these "big kindness",and those many minor acts of kindness performed daily in different situations by public minded citizens who receive no recognition or praise from the mass media are equally commendable.similarly, welfare lottery provide the majority of people a chance to perform this kind of small kindness.
on the other hand, in a large city like shanghai, where the general tendency of the people is "to look out only for one＇s own", the atmosphere is cold and miserable for those unable to keep up with the rapid pace of competitions. by launching a personal campaign such as welfare lottery, we can try to remedy the present situation and to make our society a much better place to live in.
however, every coin has two sides.lottery,inevitably,has some side effects. as to the general criticism that it encourages some people＇s opportunistic attitudes and makes them unwilling to make a living by finding a job, i believe that the ta system in our society will keep the necessary balance between the poor and the rich, thus maintains the stability and unity of our country.
